  Mike Hrabal has spent a large part of his legal career in the courtroom. While most lawyers spend their time in the office providing legal services, Mike tries cases. He has represented clients ranging from everyday citizens to multimillion dollar corporations. He has been Board Certified as a Specialist in two areas of Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1996. Board Certification requires substantial involvement in the trial process, passing a six hour written exam and evaluation from colleagues, opposing counsel and judges a lawyer has practiced in front of. Mike is the ONLY candidate who has achieved this accomplishment, shared by less than 1% of Texas attorneys.

Tarrant County Court at Law No. 3 is a trial court that covers all of Tarrant County and has jurisdiction in virtually all cases not involving criminal charges or Family Law. The Court hears matters involving business controversies, injunctions, eminent domain, personal injury, deceptive trade claims, collection suits, real estate matters and a host of other legal claims. The types of cases Mike has handled throughout his career as an attorney.

Mike graduated magna cum laude from Texas Tech School of Law where he served as Research Editor on the Law Review. He has been a member of the State Bar College since 1991, a distinction earned by less than 6% of Texas attorneys. Members of the College must spend at least twice as much time participating in Continuing Legal Education as the ordinary lawyer. Mike’s time devoted to staying abreast the ever-changing law reflects his dedication to academic excellence. Mike is the only candidate in the race who is a Fellow of the State Bar College.

A trial court judge is a lot like a baseball umpire. The job requires instant decisions based on applying almost 800 Rules of Procedure, dozens of rules of evidence, thousands of statutes and tens of thousands of cases. We need a judge with Mike’s courtroom experience, Board Certified credentials and commitment to legal education.
